River SUP
Stand Up Paddleboarding on lakes is fun, but add some current and whitewater for a whole new experience! Class I-II rapids that may seem like nothing in a raft or kayak are a lot more challenging when standing on a paddleboard. Plan on a fun filled day learning river dynamics, how to get in and out of eddies, ferrying across the river, and river surfing! For River SUP, you should be in adequate physical condition and be a comfortable swimmer. Must have previous SUP experience.
The river class begins with a safety talk and orientation. This includes an explanation of basic river dynamics and board/paddle familiarization. From there, we start out in a calm river section to hone in our balance and then progress down river with many learning opportunities on the way to our exit point. There is always an ACA River Certified Guide on the trip with never more than a 4/1 customer to guide ratio. All required equipment including board, quick release leash, paddle, water shoes, helmet, and pfd are provided.
